How combining strikethrough marks work
Unlike rich-text strike buttons, this generator appends a combining long stroke overlay (U+0336) or combining short solidus (U+0338) after every character (C̶r̶o̶s̶s̶e̶d̶). This allows the strikethrough effect to persist in plain text.
Font rendering variations
Each font engine controls the precise vertical offset and width of combining diacritical marks. In some apps the line appears seamless, while in others subtle breaks may appear between glyphs.

Why does the line look slightly uneven between letters?
Combining marks attach to individual graphemes. Because letters vary in width (like 'w' vs 'i'), different rendering engines draw combining marks with small variations.
Is this text copied as a font file?
No. The tool substitutes ordinary letters with Unicode characters. You copy the resulting characters as plain text; no TTF, OTF, or web font file is installed or downloaded.
Why are some characters unchanged?
Unicode does not provide a matching decorative form for every letter, number, accent or symbol. Unsupported characters are preserved instead of deleted or substituted with misleading symbols.
Does the tool upload my text to a server?
No. All text transformations run 100% locally in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. This website does not log, store, or transmit what you type.
