Unicode text tool

Upside Down Text Generator

Turn text upside down by reversing its reading order and replacing supported characters with Unicode lookalikes. The reversal is grapheme-aware so joined emoji are less likely to break apart.

Flip text upside down

Grapheme-aware cluster reversal

Flipping text requires both reversing the character order and substituting inverted lookalikes. We use Intl.Segmenter to ensure emoji skin tones and family groupings (ZWJ sequences) are never torn apart during reversal.

Approximated lookalikes

Because Unicode lacks an inverted glyph for every Latin letter, the converter uses the closest phonetic or mathematical lookalike (such as ɐ for a, ǝ for e, and ʇ for t).

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I flip upside-down text back to normal?

Running it through the tool again or using our 'Fancy Text to Normal' tool will reverse and restore the majority of characters.

Is this text copied as a font file?

No. The tool substitutes ordinary letters with Unicode characters. You copy the resulting characters as plain text; no TTF, OTF, or web font file is installed or downloaded.

Why are some characters unchanged?

Unicode does not provide a matching decorative form for every letter, number, accent or symbol. Unsupported characters are preserved instead of deleted or substituted with misleading symbols.

Does the tool upload my text to a server?

No. All text transformations run 100% locally in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. This website does not log, store, or transmit what you type.
